I want to start out today’s blog by saying that these last few years have been quite a journey for me as an individual. I had my struggles in many areas from work, to personal fertility issues, health, and fitness. It’s so cliché when people say “it’s all in the right timing”, or that “things will happen when they are meant to”. Sometimes I really don’t believe that stuff at all even though it sounds pleasant but what I do believe is that how we live our lives plays a role in our successes. I have made a lot of changes to get myself where I am today and also want to say that I am lucky enough to have had the support of my loving husband and the people I choose to surround myself with.
With that said, I want to share something with you all. My first blog on here was about why I made changes in my health and fitness and found my love for cooking healthy foods and meals. My biggest topic was about going through fertility treatments. A little after I put that blog up, my husband and I got surprised with the best news ever! Something we have wanted for the last 8 years. We are expecting our first child April 2018!!!!!! I cannot tell you how ecstatic we are over this! Some of you may have gone through your own struggles with this and maybe you finally had success or maybe you’re still fighting the fight but one thing I would like to say is that even though it has been tough through the years and went through many emotions, we are finally here! Better late than never, right? There is hope for all of us!
Besides the “timing” that had to be just right, I also want to give myself credit for giving my body and health a makeover from the inside out. In these last 3 years of stopping the treatments, getting off the fertility meds, and being MIA with my doctors, I was able to give myself a mental break and gain some clarity. I have learned a lot since then! Most of what I learned was from the people that helped me along the way which in turn made me want to learn more on my own. I want to thank my husband for giving me the push of encouragement when I wanted to join my boot camp and who forever reminded me how proud he was of me as I slowly began to hit my goals and accomplish good change. He also supported me & ate everything I ate at home (that’s huge). I want to thank my trainer Jennie for giving me the tools to better my body and my eating habits to the point that it became and addiction but one that I loved and couldn’t get enough of. I even surprised myself with the fact that I didn’t quit and here I am over 2 years later and still going strong. As I hit one goal, she gave me a new one to work towards. Healthy foods became something I looked forward to and actually came easy to me to eat well. That snowballed into a passion for getting creative in the kitchen. How do I make healthy meals even better and add flavor? I wanted to help make it easier for others to enjoy it as much as I did and also so it would help others stay on track. I also want to give thanks to the HUGE support system that came along with joining my gym…..the people I met there. Everyone is instantly accepting, caring, supportive, and you immediately gain friendships on top of muscle ?
I guess what I am trying to say before I get WAY off track, is that I have transitioned a lot in recent years and maybe my body needed all of this before it was ready for a child. That’s the way I like to look at it. I worked hard and my husband worked hard and we finally are rewarded for it. Stay tuned for future baby food recipes!….I’m makin mine fresh!!!!!
