This past Sunday the boot camp I go to held an event that was completely focused on the supplement products used. It was more of an informative kind of seminar that explained each product, how it’s used, and what it’s for so that people understand what role each product has and how it can fit into their own fitness plan. Along with that, some discussion on food and tips on meal planning.
Of course, my role in this was food! Who would have thought, right? I made samples of no bake protein cookies from a recipe I had found online, however I altered it a bit using the products BCMF (Boot Camp Madness Fitness) carries. I used 1st Phorm Level 1 meal replacement protein powder in their Ice Cream Sandwich flavor. The one mentioned in the recipe was a different one that they were using in a chocolate flavor. I also did not use peanut butter, I used almond butter (I love almond butter!!). Everyone there went nuts over it and said my cookies were comparable to Girl Scout Samoas. I also did not find it necessary to add the chocolate chips or vegan chips to mine either. They were perfect just with the coconut. I promised I would give the link to where I found the recipe for reference which I will include below. You can pin it and save it if you like. I definitely keep this recipe on hand!
I also made healthy, all natural & organic, dairy free pumpkin spice muffins! I will also include that link for you. That recipe requires some baking but it’s delicious and not overly sweet! To finished off my part, I made and gave samples of a seasonal Pumpkin Spice meal replacement protein shake with the Level 1 Vanilla Ice Cream flavor and added 3 cups of spinach for an easy way to get your greens! Food and health make me happy and if you can make things interesting and taste just as good as it is for you, well then that makes it perfect. Boredom is what makes it so hard for anyone to stick with anything and food is not excluded from this. How can you change your eating and lifestyle if you aren’t enjoying the process? If I could give you any advice, it would be to experiment with flavors such as spices, low sodium seasonings, herbs, extracts, infused oils, and infused balsamic vinegars……just to name a few. These things make a HUGE difference in your foods and your success. There are also healthy hacks, as I like to call them. Easy substitutes for the things you love and you won’t even miss those other things anymore. Everything comes in steps, even if you take baby steps. If you are going in the right direction with food, you can take your time to ease into changing your life for the better.
